A Few of Our Google Reviews
"I have a collection of 35 cars ranging from a 1908 Buick to a 2024 Corvette. Mike has done a superior job cleaning and detailing all of my vehicles including a 1929 Pierce-Arrow I recently purchased. I would hesitate trusting any one else with my car collection."
"If I could rate higher than 5 stars I would. Mike is the man and took extra care to work around my schedule to get my truck done. The entire process was simple and easy. And the quality of work is unreal and I'll let the pictures speak for themself. Mike even took the time to work with me to go over detailing products that I will be using on my truck to keep it looking good. If you are considering ceramic coating, do it you won't regret it especially if you have Horizon do it."
"Mike performed an extensive paint correction with a five-year ceramic coating on my 2018 GMC Canyon. His passion, work ethic, and attention to detail have left my truck looking impeccable, with gloss and depth within the black paint for years. He has transformed the truck and has made it look better than the day I drove it off the lot at the dealer. It is truly an art to see how great he makes cars look. He even went a step further to clean my interior and ceramic coat my wheels for added protection without asking. Furthermore, I highly recommend Mike and his detailing business to everyone wanting to make their car look brand new again. 10/10 recommendation! Thank you again, Mike."
5 Stars!! Mike is the best. I bring him all my cars and recommend my entire family to him. He is the nicest person you would ever meet and will go out of his way to help you.

A Little About The Owner
I've been detailing cars my whole life. Since before I could even legally drive, I was detailing my buddy's cars before heading out for those endless summer night cruises. You can read all about that stuff all over my website though, so here's some other stuff you wouldn't know:
I'm a single dad to an incredible 14-year-old son. He's the reason I do what I do.
I've coached soccer in Crown Point for over 6 years, bringing home multiple championships and countless runner-ups. I also coach and play golf avidly. But what I love most? Cooking for my son. I'm always trying to impress him and make something better than the last time so I can see him smile. What can I say? I love him to death.
I'm deeply passionate about my interests. I don't take things on unless I'm truly and deeply interested in them, which applies to both my business and my personal life. When I decide to work on a car, I pour everything into it. I try to make each car better than the last one I did. Sound familiar? I'm always striving to learn a better way. To perfect my technique even more. Even when it can't be perfected any more. Especially when it can't be perfected any more.
I'm a bit of an idealist. I think everyone should do the best they can, and I wish they did—but I know they don't. That's why I do what I do. I look out for my clients. I put a lot of effort into making sure that when someone selects Horizon Detail, they're genuinely getting the best possible level of craftsmanship they can get. Not just here in Northwest Indiana, but anywhere in the world. I do world-class paint correction and ceramic coating work, and I love doing everything I do.
Frequently Asked Questions
It should be one of, if not the first thing you should consider having done on a new vehicle. This will allow us to work with relatively new paint, before issues have a chance to settle in. We can polish and protect the paint, make it look even better than new, and have it ready to hit to road within a couple of days.
Absolutely not! In fact, we ceramic coat older cars every day. Some as old as 100+ years. If your paint isn't looking that great, maybe it's getting a little dull and hazy or full of swirl marks. We pair our ceramic coatings with our paint correction services so even an older car will look better than new!
Yes it is. Even brand new cars need some polishing work to remove the unfinished layer of paint from the surface and brighten it up. Also, auto manufacturer's do not finish the paint work prior to shipping them out. They are sprayed, dried, and shipped out. Ceramic coatings require a finished surface to achieve maximum bond. We pair all of our ceramic coating packages with either our single step correction or our multi-step correction. If you are working with a shop that is offering a coating without polishing, you should run the other way as there WILL be contaminants IN the paint that will not come out with decontamination steps.
The simple answer is 1.5-3 days typically. The factors that come into play are vehicle size, vehicle condition, the level of paint correction selected, and the coating option selected. We are happy to discuss and help you plan and can give you a far more concrete answer when we're planning your vehicle for service.
Quite a bit actually. They are both top of the line, industry leading coatings for their respective tiers. In fact our 3 year coating out performs many top tier coatings from other coating brands. They are both graphene reinforced formulas, they are both incredibly good looking with a rich vibrant affect on the vehicle's paint work, the 5 year a bit more so. The 3 year formula is a single layer formula, the 5 year is a two layer formula. The 3 year is rated at 9H the 5 year is rated at 10H. They are both extremely durable and incredibly chemical resistant, the 5 year a bit more so. They are both fantastic coating options and really the main deciding factor is going to be how long you're planning on keeping your vehicle or how long you want to wait between refreshes.
Yes. But. There are some considerations. This is going to depend greatly on the automated car wash you choose to use. Some are better than others and some will outright destroy your vehicles paint work, coatings included. That said, we typically tell our clients that they can use car washes, that they should avoid spinning brush washes, try to utilize touchless car washes, and either hand wash the car yourself or utilize the services of a reputable hand wash service that knows how to wash cars without damaging them. If you decide to use automated car washes (or less than reputable hand washes), they can cause damage to your vehicles paint work, even with a coating installed, and can also diminish the life span of the coating. We do offer a full range of coating maintenance and coating repair services as well, so even if you do cheat a little with the automated washes, we can help fix and restore and related issues.
This is a real world consideration. Your car is likely going to get swirl marks and scratches, with or without a ceramic coating installed. Fortunately, we approach this a bit different than most shops and we have some coating repair options and recoating options that are exclusively available to our CURRENT COATING CLIENTS. That means if something goes wrong, we have a way to fix it for you, at sane repair rate vs the full cost of recoating your vehicle.
Caring for your ceramic coating is actually very straight forward. Your coating requires regular maintenance washing, we recommend washing it as soon as it starts to show that it's getting dirty. Once a month at minimum. We offer maintenance services, coating decontamination and repair services if needed and we also provide you with a best practices care guide. Caring for your ceramic coated vehicle is actually easier and more enjoyable than caring for you non-ceramic coated vehicle,
Well, that's the loaded question isn't it? The answer is, it depends. It depends on the coating package and options selected and it depends on the size of the vehicle. Our coating packages range from $750-$3000 and we are happy to provide you with a free quote any time!
Yes. We fully back all of our ceramic coating packages with a warranty against manufacturers defects and against any issues with workmanship. If the coating fails due to manufacturers defects or issues with our workmanship, we will reinstall the coating again, at no charge.
