Why HD Bond?

Mike came up with the HD Bond Coat and HD Bond process because that’s simply the way he thinks. Pushing envelopes, always making things better. Ceramic coatings are great. Ceramic coatings with HD Bond are better. HD Bond adds value to your ceramic coating purchase. You get far more bang for your buck. Where other shops install a product, we install a system. Where other shops provide what’s in the bottle they get from the manufacturer or distributor, we provide 2-3x the amount of raw ceramic materials. We make your vehicle look better and we protect it longer with better materials. On top of that, we are priced competitively. It’s really more of a question of why not HD Bond? It’s honestly a no brainer.

Is HD Bond Just a Primer?

No. Not even remotely. While we do utilize a primer system, our HD Bond system is much more than an off-the-shelf ceramic primer. Anyone could do that. What sets us apart is our HD Bond formulas are separate, ceramic coating type formulas that on their own contain enough punch to protect your vehicle for a year or more. However our formulas were not intended to be stand-alone formulas. Our HD Bond Coat contains oodles of bonding formulation but lacks the hardened finish of our true ceramic coating formulas. What the HD Bond Coat lacks in hard protection, it makes up for with bonding agents. The bonding agents saturate your vehicle’s paintwork altering the surface tension to a far more favorable platform/substrate for standard ceramic coating formulas to adhere to. This makes the ceramic coating’s job much easier. Instead of trying to find and create bonding points on your vehicle’s paint work, which is designed to repel chemicals, we do the heavy lifting with our HD Bond formula and the ceramic coating formula has a much easier time bonding and can instead focus on creating the hardened outer layer while forming a cohesive gradient bond with our formulas. And while it may sound like we’re describing a primer, what we’re actually describing is a complex chemical system designed to fuse together and create a cohesive coating system.

How Does HD Bond Differ from a Standard Installation?

Standard ceramic coating installations, while physically demanding and difficult, are rather straightforward.

Wash > Decon > Polish > Prep > Install Ceramic Coating Formula

The HD Bond process is a little more tricky than that. Timing, temperature, formulations, and humidity are all a huge part of our installation. First, in addition to the ceramic coating formula we purchase from IGL Coatings, we also utilize separate types of ceramic formulas. We then take temp and humidity readings, adjust our climate control appropriately, and do some math. The equation tells us how long we wait in between formulation installs. Too soon, too long and we don’t get the proper gradient. Our process looks a little more like this:

Wash > Decon > Correction > Finish Polish > Primer > Temp/Humidity Readings > HVAC adjustments > HD Bond Coat Applied > Perform Math (get a headache) > Determine Appropriate Intervals > Apply Ceramic Coating Formula (And if we’re doing HD Strong) > Wait Appropriate Interval > Apply HD Strong > Wait Appropriate Interval > Apply Final Ceramic Coating Formula

Just take a quick second to look back at that. Compare those two processes again. It’s not even close. We’re doing more with ceramic coatings than anyone else. You work hard for your money. You should get the most out of it.

What Does HD Bond Do For You?

In a nutshell it makes your vehicle look amazing. We’ve asked our clients who have had coatings done elsewhere to compare our results to the results they’ve received elsewhere, and there was no comparison. Our vehicles deliver more gloss, more shine, more depth, and more happy owners than the other shops. Period.

Ok, so what else? Let’s get practical for a second. We’re not just talking marketing and buzzwords. You’re getting more for your money. 2-3x the ceramic density,2-3x the chemical resistance, 2-3x gloss, a slicker, thicker, more solid ceramic coating for the same money you’re paying for a mid-tier application from the other “high-end” shops out there.
